$ 32.00

This publication coincides with the second installation in the series of three that began with Beatriz Milhazes Screenprints in curatorial partnership with the Whitechapel Gallery at Windsor. This second installation of Gert and Uwe Tobias will be exhibited December 9, 2012-April 4, 2013 at the Whitechapel Gallery at Windsor. Gert and Uwe (b. 1973, Brascov, Romania) are based in Cologne, Germany and work collaboratively on woodblock printing, paintings, sculptures, collages and typewriter drawings. The works of art span these diverse methods combining the lines, shapes and block colors of geometric abstraction with the storybook images and humble patterns of folk art.

Included in this publication are 32 plates in full color of the works on display with a foreword by the Hon. Hilary Weston. A Glossary created by Iwona Blazwick, OBE, Director of the Whitechapel Gallery expands on the artists main themes and interests from Abstraction and the Grotesque to Nature and Violence. Also included are installation views from key presentations of the brother’s work during the last five years.
